Tel Quel

Tel Quel is the creative project of producer and creative director, Matthew Gammon. His passion for soundscapes and textured compositions takes listeners through lucid dream and meditative states. With a sound that synthesizes a unique blend of ethereal drones, field recordings, textured guitars, melodic progressions, and glitchy rhythmic sections, his innovative sound design and compositions flow between moments of tension and stillness.

Having developed a strong interest from an early age in electronica, post-rock, ambient, psychedelica, new age, and industrial music, Tel Quel has always been captivated by music as a form of psychic exploration beyond the conventional structures of symbolic thought, and strives to give form to subtle emotional states and diverse inner landscapes.

As a proponent for all manners of downtempo, ambient, and electronica, he helped organize a regular event called MEKKA in Tokyo (2011-2019), with a general focus on ambient, experimental downtempo, ethno-fusion, psydub, and psybient. Through MEKKA, he helped bring together an eclectic mix of musicians and performers based in Japan that specialized in live electronica, acoustic acts, and multiple forms of interpretive dance.

Tel Quel has had the opportunity to perform at a multitude of events and festivals around the world, including Earth Frequency Festival (Australia), Dance of Shiva (India), Rural (Japan), Re:birth (Japan), OZORA: One Day In Tokyo (Japan), Samsara (Hungary), and the Oregon Eclipse (USA). In addition, he is an advocate for cross-disciplinary artistic collaborations, and his music has been commissioned for fashion shows, interpretive dance performances, and various audio-visual installations in Europe, Japan, and the US. He hopes you will join him in exploring the infinite through sound.
